Hi all,

I have 4 mapped drives via GPO.

N is server1\IT.

P is server1\public

T is server1\accounting

Y is server2\IT

N and Y is only for Domain Admin group

P is for everyone

T is for accounting group only.

I need have a test user who is a member of the Domain Admins and Accounting groups. All the mapped drives have an action of Create, Reconnect is set to Yes.

When I login as the test user, I get the P, T, Y mapping. No N drive. Under the Gpresult report, under Component Status, it says Pending. Under the Preferences\Windows Settting\Drive Maps, I can see the 3 mapped drives. Result is Success. Their locations point to the correct server name;

P is server1\public

T is server1\accounting

Y is server2\IT

I then reboot test laptop, login as the test user, mapped drives still show P, T, Y. After another restart, none of the mapped drives show. Under the GPresult report, under Component Status, it shows Success. Now, under Preferences\Windows Settings\Drive Maps, I can see 2 mapped drives. Result is Failure(error code 0x80070035). Their locations point to an old file server we have retired. This is after not changing anything on the laptop and the domain controller.

P is oldserver\public

N is oldserver\IT

The drive mappings change back and forth after rebooting the laptop.

This is driving me crazy.

Please help.

I did not find the right solution from the internet.
